Once our two characters started talking, everything got worked out. It was also nice to see Dudley find his spine near the end of the book. I do like how these books get the story line all wrapped up at the end, but then BAM look at this new wrinkle Very smart, and always keeps me coming back for more. Feb 01, Serena Yates rated it liked it Shelves: Back to the pairing of wolves in this volume - and we finally get Sloane's story as well as Dudley's. Dudley is one accident-prone vampire who was on the run from his father and carried more prejudice against shifters than is healthy.
After having seen not all shifters are monsters, he has revised his stance and wants nothing more than for his mate to claim him. Sloane has been through the wringer - first his mate outright rejected him, now Dudley is trying to chase him down. I can't blame Sloane Back to the pairing of wolves in this volume - and we finally get Sloane's story as well as Dudley's. I can't blame Sloane for being a bit hesitant, especially since Dudley has so many self-image issues. Sloane wisely focuses on getting rid of them first. This is another light, fun read, with a double dose of humor.
Lots of angst, jokes about rats as pets, and hot loving give it the typical 'Brac Pack' feeling of the recent books. I look forward to the next one! Feb 06, Nina rated it it was ok Shelves: The author has been teasing us for awhile throughout several books with this couple.
The short glimpses made me think that this book will be awesome, given who Sloane and Dudley are as individuals. Reading this book I experienced no awesomeness, the glimpses built up the book only for it to bomb hard and this series is getting worse by the minute. I would think that homophobia and "racism" would go hand in hand b The author has been teasing us for awhile throughout several books with this couple.
I would think that homophobia and "racism" would go hand in hand but Magnum somehow doesn't have a problem with Dudley's mate being a guy. As soon as I wrote the last sentence my words were disputed and confirmed at the same time; looks like "racism" does go hand in hand with homophobia and Magnum does have a problem with his son being gay.
I'm kinda, sorta fed up with this series, with every other book being made with the same mold but I keep getting teased, dang it. For now I'll continue reading. His Imperfect Mate by Lynn Hagen is the twenty-sixth book in the Brac Pac series; this is a series where the books are meant to be read in their published order — they are not stand alone books. Sloan is a strong Alpha type male who knows the real deal with mates and the value he has in Dudley. The journey Sloan and Dudley take is angsty and filled with love. It was a joy to watch their relationship unfold. I always look forward to reading a Brac Pac book and seeing what is going on with the pairings in the future. This was a really nice addition to a great series.
Jun 24, CB rated it it was amazing. Well, I delved into the Bracverse a 2nd time and now there are books - yikes! I loved this Universe the first time I read it several years ago and now I love it more, I really do, but I've only been able to read these series and I have expanded to all the books that are currently out in each: Reading them in order is a must. Each book has it's own love story but there is an underlying story that plays out throughout them all. As you get towards the end of these series, other series come into play and I noticed that, since I did not read them, I missed some of the characters being mentioned good and bad but I was still able to follow because the main ones stay the same.
May 23, Phaney rated it really liked it Shelves: Actually, even that first sex scene was good. I really, really liked this book. Completely sweet and an actual romance, too. Those twins just suck. XD Not complaining, though. Lemme look through the new stuff that was published during my two-week immersion. Forty-three books in fourteen days, baby. Mar 24, Erticchic rated it it was amazing.
Where do I start!!!! This was by far my favorite in this series. I have been waiting patiently for Dudley's story. Only so patient because he was in the other stories as well. I actually had a " insert in mouth, exit from nose" moment with my coffee. I can't wait to read the next one again too I know it will be just as great the second time around too Mar 24, Tj rated it liked it Shelves: I enjoyed this one as much as the rest of the series.
I just… No. I am shutting this down right now. I will read the next few volumes with my eyes closed almost all the way. But is it really too much to ask for decent writing in my brain-fluff? Jul 10, Becky Condit rated it it was amazing. Jordan is a Black Panther shifter who finds out that Bailey, a human is his mate. Bailey has been hurt badly by a former boyfriend and is nursing a broken heart and refuses to open himself up to another man. Jordan takes his time with Bailey and just when it looked like Bailey was going to give Jordan a chance, he witnesses Jordan killing a rogue vampire.
Of course, Bailey not having any knowledge of the paranormal creatures that inhabit Brac Village completely misunderstands the situation and shuts down any idea of getting to know Jordan. The funniest gag in this story is Jordan always killing someone before he and Bailey can go out on a date. As always, this is not a standalone read. It must be read in sequential order as there are characters from other series and often cross over between books.
I definitely recommend this book in addition to the others in her series. Mar 19, LaShonta rated it liked it Shelves: mm-shifters. I really didn't like Bailey all that much which took away the enjoyment for me a bit. I loved Jordan though and like the parts with Maverick of course. This is the only reason I'm giving this book 2.

Jul 23, Nessa rated it really liked it. Wow, at first I didn't think that Jordan black Panther would ever get his mate, because Bailey human was extremely resistant, due to his broken heart.
I mean, he was way past being a reluctant mate. He was impossible! Again, I don't like hunters. I wish that there were only paranormal threats in shifter romances. However, I was surprised at the end, not to mention the story had it's humor, which I always love.
It was a story that I could definitely escape into. Loved it.

This sounds interesting. Nothing rage inducing in the blurb, and it got me interested. Onward to t Sticking with my new review format for this one so Onward to the book! Post read thoughts: Another winner.
I liked how Jordan and Bailey grew together instead of instantly being in love. I liked that Jordan wasn't pushy and aggressive and truly gave Bailey understanding and time and Bailey didn't let his past ruin his future and that he wasn't a pushover or a mate that needed to be coddled. They were both strong and it felt like a relationship of equals. I like that it was, for once, the shifter in constant danger and not the mate.
I also really liked how the Kenyon Conspiracy is shaping up. Finding out view spoiler [ that some of the residents are spies and hunters made my jaw drop!
I bet Fishman is one Thoughts while reading: view spoiler [ OMG begone Fishman before somebody drops a house on you. You just had to be cheating jerk didn't you? Aww I like you Travis. Yay for not drinking and driving. Don't ruin this for us, Bailey. Harley or the stranger in the Lucky Clover is going to end up being the big bad in this story.
Aww yeah we have a breakfast date!
Ruh Roh Put that gun down! If the zombie apocalypse ever comes I'm rolling with you. Never mind Bailey, I can't roll with you. You shoot people all accidental like and I am too cute to catch a bullet.
Bailey put down the phone. What are you gonna tell ? I shot a man who turned into a cat and need you guys to come get him out of my living room? You are going to be fitted for a white jacket and making macaroni art if you don't put down the phone. Travis you are no help at all lol. You are acting like he shouldn't be freaked out. He absolutely should be freaked out.
Bailey you know you want that man. I understand being scared though. And they did just drop a bomb on you. I get that you need time. Jordan you are so sweet and forgiving. Bailey don't mess this up for us okay?
Okay I vote we kill Kenyon. Damn Jordan Ah well, I ain't mad at you. It's a thing. Look it up. You're in too deep already for it to be "just sex". You helped a man cover up a dead body. You are the Bonnie to his Clyde sweetie. You're already past the casual hook up stage.
Quit lying to yourself and your mate. Shut up! Uh oh, Bear's getting rowdy. Bailey you are at work Keeping a secret like that is not cool yo. I am having a Teen Wolf moment : Aww Jordan figured out he's mated and he's not freaking out or feeling all betrayed A welcome one but still a surprise. You just recovered from poisoning you horndog! That's right Bailey you stay beside your man! Nobody put Bailey in a closet!
Bailey handling things like a boss! I wish they'd caught the intruder though. Who are they? Not falling for it. The woman is a red herring. It's Harley. The attempts are trying to scare Bailey and but are trying to hurt Jordan. Plus, Harley had tried to make Spencer talk Bailey into taking him back. Yeah, putting my money on an obsessed Harley Grouper.
I don't know what it is lately but Hunters are on my crap list. Seriously, if they aren't named Sam and Dean, me no likey Hunters. Crazy, obsessed, cheating mofo. Bailey's a human firefighter. He can't be that small.
They have to be able to carry an immense amount of weight up many flights of stairs. Good peril and bedside vigil. I think it's kind of self-centered to sag "you were made just for me" like he's some kind of pleasure robot. Again, the only woman is evil. Bailey is insecure about how gorgeous his mate is and Jor 3. Bailey is insecure about how gorgeous his mate is and Jordan says looks aren't everything.
Bailey should have kicked his ass. Cool that the human helped save the day and the big shifter was the one in danger. The culprit was pretty obvious to me early on but there were some stretches in what happened when in order to throw us off that just didn't work. Sep 05, Riayl rated it liked it Shelves: mm. I didn't hate the characters this time around. Go me! Though it was a close thing in the beginning, Bailey was a little too I get that he had been emotionally devastated but he's only 23 and he's swearing off love for the rest of his life. His inner voice in the beginning was very off-putting.
